Reviving The Sunnah

Supporting the Muslim community to reduce their water use using insight rooted in Islamic beliefs.

Strategy

To test how much water can be saved by the community of the Cambridge Central Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan by educating them on the correct wudu practice. Wudu is the purification ritual performed before salah (prayers) five times a day.

Instead of using a running tap to perform wudu which uses 6 litres of water every minute, scripture states that only used 1 maad of water should be used, which equates to roughly 1 litre.

We communicated the opportunity to save water through community voices, events and social media.
